Prince Harry urged significant change regarding mental wellness and climate action during the 14th Concordia Annual Summit in Manhattan. At a Diana Award event, the Duke of Sussex highlighted the importance of mental wellbeing and commended the Legacy Award winners for their activism.
He emphasized the universal impact of mental health and proposed rebranding the term to “mental fitness” to help reduce stigma. “It affects every single one of us, from the top to bottom, from the youngest to the oldest,” Harry stated, reflecting on his mother, Princess Diana’s, legacy.
Harry encouraged ongoing conversations about mental health, stating, “I think you guys are leading the charge in hopefully being able to break down the stigma.”
He shared the stage with Tessy Ojo, chief executive of the charity, and two Legacy Award winners: Chiara Riyanti Hutapea Zhang from Indonesia and Christina Williams from Jamaica.
Harry expressed pride in the award recipients, saying, “I know that my mum would be incredibly proud of you guys.” He praised their activism and compassion, noting how these values were central to Princess Diana’s life. “The way that you do it is incredible. So thank you,” he added.
