Peak Vista is working to raise awareness about its free childcare service, which many patients were previously unaware of.
The clinic’s childcare center offers free services for children aged 6 months to 12 years. While parents or caregivers attend appointments, trained professionals provide educational activities, toys, and books to their children.
Cassidy Crossman, Vice President of Clinical Operations at Peak Vista, highlighted the service’s importance. “Our mission is to remove obstacles to care, including the challenge of finding childcare. If a lack of childcare prevents you from attending an appointment, we offer a solution. You can leave your children with us, and we will take excellent care of them,” Crossman said.
Longtime Peak Vista patient Lisseth Forero shared her experience. Initially unaware of the service, she discovered it when a nurse suggested using the childcare center. “I thought the nurse was referring to the lobby TV. But when we arrived at the childcare center, it was like finding a hidden gem. Since then, I have used it every time, and my kids love it,” Forero said.
The childcare center staff are bilingual, speaking both Spanish and English, and use language interpretation software to assist non-English speaking families. Forero appreciated this aspect of the service. “The caregivers accommodate both Spanish and English speakers, which is wonderful,” she added.
The well-child waiting area is available at Peak Vista’s Union, International Circle, and N Academy campuses.
