Health officials have lifted water contact closures for North Beach Coronado and the Coronado Lifeguard Tower. The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality confirmed on Sunday that recent water quality samples now meet state health standards.
However, the La Jolla Children’s Pool remains under advisory. Bacteria levels at this location have exceeded state health standards, which could pose a risk of illness to beachgoers.
The shoreline from the International Border to north of Avenida Lunar is still closed. Officials will keep this area closed until further testing confirms the water is safe. The public is advised to avoid contact with the water in these areas due to potential sewage contamination, which may cause illness.
