DeKalb, IL – The annual Senior Health Fair, initially scheduled for July 18 at DeKalb High School, has been postponed, organizers announced on Wednesday.
The fair, designed to assist seniors in saving money, improving their health, and offering free health screenings, is a vital resource for the community.
Local lawmakers, including Senate Minority Deputy Leader Sue Rezin (R-Morris), State Senator Dave Syverson (R-Cherry Valley), House Minority Leader Tony McCombie (R-Savanna), and State Representatives Bradley Fritts (R-Dixon) and Jeff Keicher (R-Sycamore), are the hosts of the event. They released a joint statement regarding the postponement:
“Our goal as legislators is always to provide the best services possible to our constituents. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances outside of our control have led us to the determination that the best decision is to postpone tomorrow’s Senior Health Fair and reschedule the fair for a future date. We did not make this decision lightly, but we feel it is the best decision to ensure we provide the best services to our constituents. We apologize for any inconvenience to those who planned to attend the fair tomorrow.”
A new date for the Senior Health Fair will be announced in the coming weeks.
