The health of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has ignited a heated dispute between the Tihar jail administration and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). AAP leaders claim Kejriwal’s health is rapidly deteriorating in prison, alleging he has lost significant weight since his incarceration and suggesting a conspiracy against him.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh stated Kejriwal’s weight has dropped from 70 kg at the time of his arrest to 61.5 kg, describing the loss as alarming and indicative of a serious health issue.
Tihar jail authorities refuted these claims, providing detailed updates on Kejriwal’s health. They suggested the weight loss could be due to reduced food intake or low-calorie consumption. The jail’s medical officer and visiting specialists regularly monitor Kejriwal, ensuring he receives necessary medical attention and follows a prescribed diet. According to the jail report, Kejriwal’s blood sugar levels are regularly checked and treated as per medical advice, with his vitals currently within normal limits.
AAP has accused the BJP-led central government of orchestrating Kejriwal’s predicament, alleging a deliberate conspiracy to endanger his health. They claim this is an attempt to keep him incarcerated and vulnerable to serious health risks. In contrast, BJP Delhi leader Virendra Sachdeva dismissed AAP’s claims as theatrics intended to influence court decisions in favor of Kejriwal’s release.
The clash between AAP and the Tihar jail administration continues to escalate amid concerns over Kejriwal’s health and the political ramifications of his incarceration.
