Former Railway minister and veteran politician Mukul Roy, who was hospitalized last Thursday after a fall at his residence, is reported to be in stable condition, according to doctors on Sunday.
Roy is currently in the Intensive Therapy Unit and remains on oxygen support. Hospital officials mentioned that if his health continues to improve, he may be transferred to a regular cabin soon.
“He is stable and showing signs of improvement,” said a hospital official.
On Saturday, Roy’s son Subhrangshu informed the media that his father is responding well to treatment. Roy, a founding member of the TMC, which was established after party chairperson Mamata Banerjee’s departure from the Congress in 1998, continues to receive medical care.
