During a private meeting with Democratic governors at the White House on Wednesday night, President Joe Biden shared that he had a medical checkup after last week’s debate and is in good health, according to two sources familiar with the conversation.
One source told ABC News that the president had a checkup with a White House physician a few days after the debate due to a cold. This source described the exam as brief and said it did not involve any major tests.
Another person with knowledge of the meeting confirmed that Biden assured the governors of his good health.
Earlier on Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked if the president had undergone any medical exams since his last physical in February. She replied, “We were able to talk to his doctor about that, and that is a no.” When asked again if Biden had “any kind of medical exams,” she reiterated, “No.”
