Bahrain’s Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has unveiled a strategic collaboration with M42, a global health powerhouse headquartered in Abu Dhabi. This collaboration aims to launch the Amana Healthcare facility in Bahrain.
Amana Healthcare, a subsidiary of the M42 group accredited by CARF and JCI, is extending its services into Bahrain to replicate its successful care model from the UAE. This move is in line with Bahrain’s Vision 2030 healthcare objectives, focusing on improving clinical outcomes and meeting evolving healthcare needs by enhancing quality and accessibility.
Scheduled to start operations in 2025, the Bahrain Amana Healthcare facility reflects Mumtalakat’s ongoing investment efforts for Bahrain and M42’s commitment to delivering top-tier health solutions tailored to the local community’s needs. It seeks to position Bahrain as a global leader in specialized rehabilitation and long-term care, while also creating job opportunities for Bahrainis in the clinical sector.
Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Mumtalakat’s CEO, expressed dedication to fostering Bahrain’s growth through strategic partnerships aligned with their investment principles and strategy. Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Managing Director and Group CEO of M42, emphasized M42’s advanced, tech-enabled health solutions and its commitment to transforming health by improving outcomes and quality of life.
The new facility in Al Jasra will cater to people with complex medical needs requiring extended inpatient stays, offering a range of services and tailored social programs to aid in the transition to post-hospital life. M42’s Amana long-term care model, recognized for reducing strain on acute hospital beds and enhancing healthcare resource efficiency, received accolades for its sustainability efforts, setting the stage for its establishment in Bahrain.
The collaboration between M42 and Mumtalakat underscores the latter’s investment strategy to bolster Bahrain’s healthcare sector and M42’s dedication to personalized health solutions.
