Los Angeles, CA – Actor Martin Lawrence has dispelled rumors about his health after a viral clip from the “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” premiere sparked online speculation.
The video shows Lawrence and his “Bad Boys 4” co-star Will Smith on top of a bus, addressing the crowd. Fans noticed Smith appearing to guide a seemingly unsteady Lawrence, who also appeared less energetic.
During an appearance on Hot 97’s “Ebro in the Morning” on Tuesday, host Ebro Darden confronted the rumors directly.
“Now Martin… everybody’s talking about you on the balcony waving at people, looking around… People took it like something was wrong with your health,” Darden said.
Lawrence joked about the situation, expressing his surprise at the size of the crowd. “I was like, oh, this is rock concert stuff. What the hell is going on? [This is] for a movie?”
Darden pressed further, asking if Lawrence had anything to say to those worried about his health.
“I’m fine. I’m in God’s hands,” Lawrence assured. “I’m blessed. I’m glad to be waking up every day. I’m all good. No need for people to be concerned.”
As the interview concluded, Lawrence humorously addressed the online speculators. “I’m healthy as hell. Stop the rumors!” he said.
Lawrence, 59, has had health issues in the past. In May 1996, he was briefly hospitalized after running into traffic while cursing and screaming. A doctor diagnosed him with extreme exhaustion and dehydration.
In 1999, he suffered another health scare when he collapsed from severe heat exhaustion while exercising. This incident resulted in a three-day coma.
Despite these past challenges, Lawrence emphasized that he is currently in good health.
