In a major announcement at the JPM Healthcare Conference in San Francisco, Amazon has introduced its innovative Health Condition Programs, designed to empower customers to leverage digital health benefits provided by their employers or insurance carriers. The inaugural partner for this initiative is Omada Health, a renowned chronic care management company.
The primary objective of Amazon’s Health Condition Programs is to facilitate individuals in accessing digital health tools that aid in the management of chronic conditions, including but not limited to diabetes, prediabetes, and high blood pressure.
Established in 2011, Omada Health initially focused on prediabetes management but has since expanded its services to encompass the management of diabetes, hypertension, and musculoskeletal conditions.
Operating out of San Francisco, Omada Health specializes in assisting individuals with personalized, data-driven behavior change coaching to manage their health conditions effectively. The platform also allows users to monitor various health metrics such as exercise, diet, blood glucose, and more. Furthermore, patients can access virtual care for additional support through the platform.
Eligible members of Omada can now enroll in programs for diabetes, diabetes prevention, and hypertension through Amazon. To determine eligibility, individuals can check the Amazon Health webpage.
In outlining its future plans, Amazon has expressed its commitment to broaden the scope of its Health Condition Programs by collaborating with additional digital health companies in the near future.
