Lawmakers in Raleigh have been grappling with the challenge of expanding access to healthcare for the state’s 3.5 million rural residents. In an effort to address this issue comprehensively, they embarked on a journey across the state, conducting hearings with residents and healthcare providers outside the metropolitan areas.
