The Israeli attack on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza has resulted in a tragic death toll of 471, as reported by the Health Ministry in Gaza. Additionally, 342 individuals have suffered injuries, with 28 in serious condition. The Israeli government has denied responsibility for the airstrike on the hospital.
The Health Ministry further states that a staggering 70% of the Palestinian victims of this assault, which includes children, women, and the elderly, have borne the brunt of this violence.
The conflict initiated on October 7 with Hamas’ Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, involving rocket launches and infiltrations into Israel. This action was in response to the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and escalating violence from Israeli settlers. In retaliation, the Israeli military launched Operation Swords of Iron against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
In light of the severe humanitarian crisis, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has urgently called for an immediate humanitarian cease-fire to alleviate the immense suffering endured by the affected population.
