The National Medical Research Council (NMRC) is now accepting nominations for the Healthy Longevity Catalyst Awards, aimed at funding groundbreaking ideas that can enhance the physical, mental, and social well-being of aging populations. The awards seek innovative approaches that contribute to extending the human health span in measurable and equitable ways.
The focus of the awards is on advancing longevity through innovations in disease prevention, biology, mobility, social connectedness, and productive aging. Proposals may target early, mid, or late-life stages but must ultimately contribute to improved health outcomes as individuals age.
Priority Topics and Funding Details
Applications are encouraged across a broad range of healthy longevity topics, with particular emphasis on cognitive health. Projects that focus on preventing cognitive decline, managing impairments, or optimizing learning for seniors are given priority. Applicants are also encouraged to explore interdisciplinary approaches that combine cognition with technology, social sciences, or other fields.
The Catalyst Awards offer funding of up to SGD 200,000 (including 30% indirect costs) for projects lasting up to two years.
Eligibility and Application Guidelines
The awards are open to teams from both public and private sector organizations, across all disciplines. While individual applicants are not eligible, the entity representing the project must be legally registered in Singapore. Consortiums with Singapore-registered entities are also eligible.
Interested parties have until February 6, 2025, to submit their nominations.
