Celebrities Swear by Nuts as Their Favorite Healthy Snack

by Kaia

In 2024, I interviewed over 70 celebrities, ranging from award-winning actors to Olympic athletes, uncovering numerous insights into their daily routines, eating habits, and personal favorites. Among the various lifestyle habits they shared, one trend stood out — their go-to snack. Despite their diverse careers, these stars agree on one thing: nuts are a top choice for a healthy, satisfying bite.

Stars like dancers Julianne Hough and Derek Hough, track star Sha’Carri Richardson, and renowned chefs Carla Hall and Alton Brown have all mentioned nuts as a key part of their snacking routine. Whether it’s mixed nuts, almonds, or cashews, this humble, savory snack has earned its place in their hectic schedules.

Nuts offer numerous health benefits, making them a favorite among these busy professionals. Packed with protein, fiber, and essential nutrients, a handful of nuts can keep hunger at bay between meals. Moreover, these nutrient-dense snacks support weight management, reduce inflammation, and may even help lower cancer risk.

Derek Hough, a fan of macadamia nuts, described them as “delicious,” while also naming almonds as his favorite. “Just a handful of almonds is delicious. I love them, and they’re so filling,” he said in an interview. For Sha’Carri Richardson, peanuts and almonds are her go-to options, keeping things simple yet effective.

Julianne Hough also favors almonds but enjoys walnuts and cashews as well. Chef Carla Hall, meanwhile, pairs almonds or mixed nuts with fiber-rich granola for a filling snack.

While nuts dominate as the preferred choice, other celebrities also favor snacks like apples with peanut butter (a favorite combo of pop star Tate McRae and soccer star Kristie Mewis) or fresh fruit, with Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky and World Cup champion Alex Morgan both advocating for berries.

No matter the choice, these snacks—rich in fiber and essential nutrients—help these stars perform at their best, whether on stage, in the kitchen, or at the pinnacle of athletic achievement.
