Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have announced the postponement of eight scheduled shows in September due to health concerns affecting Springsteen, as revealed in a statement on his official website.

The iconic musician, who is set to turn 74 this month, is currently under medical treatment for symptoms associated with peptic ulcer disease. After consulting with medical advisors, the decision was made to reschedule the remaining September performances.

In the statement, Springsteen expressed his and the band’s heartfelt disappointment over the necessity to postpone the shows. He conveyed his apologies to their devoted Philadelphia fans, acknowledging that they had missed a few weeks ago. He reassured fans that they would return to make up for these postponed shows and more. Springsteen concluded by expressing gratitude for the understanding and support of their audience, emphasizing the joy they’ve experienced during their U.S. tour and their eager anticipation of future performances, noting, “We’ll be back soon.”

It’s worth noting that last month, Springsteen had also postponed two concerts in Philadelphia due to an undisclosed illness.

The affected shows were originally scheduled in various locations, including Pittsburgh, Uncasville (Connecticut), Albany (New York), Columbus (Ohio), and Washington, D.C. Ticket holders for these concerts will be informed of the rescheduled dates as soon as they are confirmed.

Springsteen and the E Street Band embarked on their 2023 tour in February, commencing in Tampa, Florida. After an extensive international tour spanning three months, they began the second leg of their North American tour in August.
