Items like broccoli, peppers, grapes, and cucumbers were among the top ten purchases, reflecting the region’s commitment to nutritious foods. This trend is consistent with Tesco’s Clubcard Unpacked review, which examines the shopping habits of Clubcard users and reveals that fresh, locally sourced produce is increasingly popular among Dorset’s consumers.

Oonagh Turnbull, Head of Health and Sustainable Diet Campaigns at Tesco, commented on the data, noting that nutrition has become a major factor in shoppers’ decisions, with many customers now prioritizing high-quality fruit and vegetables. She highlighted that this shift is partly due to people’s growing interest in home-cooked meals and their desire to experiment with new recipes in the kitchen.

In addition to the popular vegetables and fruits mentioned, other top items included bananas, strawberries, raspberries, and spring onions. According to Oonagh, this growing demand for healthy eating is also tied to the awareness of how a nutritious diet can help reduce the risk of conditions like coronary heart disease and maintain a healthy weight.

The trend in Dorset mirrors broader shifts in consumer behavior, where an emphasis on health-conscious eating is becoming a key factor in the region’s shopping habits.
